Obituary
HTCS Patrick Lawrence Schwarzbauer, U.S. Navy Retired, 82, of Milltown Road, Hartwell, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson SC.
Born on June 5, 1935 in McGrath MN, he was the son of the late Simon Andrew Schwarzbauer and Marie Julia Bolan Schwarzbauer.Patrick was a former Farmer, Welder for a construction company and Truck Driver. He had been in partnership with his sons in a Timber and Pulpwood business and was a volunteer worker for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lake Hartwell Project.Mr. Schwarzbauer retired after 20 years of service from the U.S. Navy and veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Survivors include his wife: Cecilia Ford Schwarzbauer; his sons: Tim Schwarzbauer & Laura of Travelers Rest SC and Mark Schwarzbauer of Avon Park FL; two brothers: Jim Schwarzbauer & Nedda of Proctor MN and Kenneth Schwarzbauer of McGrath MN; two sisters: Kathryn Beatty & Leonard of Montgomery MN and Julie Ann Schwarzbauer of McGrath MN; two grandchildren: Heath Conklin & Tonya of Guyton GA and Jennifer Trusty & Robert of Greenville SC; four great-grandchildren: Tyler and Piper Conklin and Amity and Dakota Trusty.Mr. Schwarzbauer was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife: Shirley Mae Connell Schwarzbauer and a daughter: Baby Girl Schwarzbauer.
A funeral mass celebrating Patrick's life will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.Burial will be in the Saint Anthony Catholic Cemetery, McGrath MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 1009 Benson Street, Hartwell GA 30643 or to the DAV – Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 1430, Cincinnati, OH45250-0301.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of local arrangements.
