Ms. Patsy Jean "Pat" Bartlett, age 68, of Atlanta, died Friday, March 5, 2010 at Piedmont Hospital.
Born August 2, 1941 in Knoxville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Dorsey & Sara Garner Bartlett. Pat was a graduate of Lavonia High School and after graduating from North Georgia College, at the top of her class, Pat began her career in 1962 in the Supply Division of Equifax (formerly Retail Credit Company) as a proofreader, before she was promoted and transferred into Equifax Corporate offices. She continued to progress and held important management positions throughout her career. She retired in 1996 as Director of Employee Communications in the Human Resources Department.
During her career, Pat was also active in the Atlanta Women's Chamber of Commerce and the Atlanta Dogwood Festival. She was a former Board member and President of the Women's Chamber and represented Atlanta during an exchange program with Brazil. Pat was involved in various committees sponsored by Equifax in the 1996 Olympics. Pat was a life long member of New Franklin Christian Church.
To have Pat as a friend was a blessing from God. Her love was always unconditional, constant and unwavering.
She is survived by sister & brother-in-law: Emma & Swain LeCroy of Lavonia; brothers & sisters-in-law: William "Bill" & Jenny Bartlett of Bowersville and Russell "Russ" & Kay Bartlett of Canon; Special friends: Annette Mount and Marvin Mullinax; 8 nieces and nephews & 12 grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2010 at New Franklin Christian Church. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. The families will be at their respective homes.
