Mrs. Patsy Ann Shaw Hicks, 86, of Conyers, GA, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Piedmont Hospital-Rockdale.

Born on February 19, 1940, in Royston, GA, she was the daughter of the late J.B. Shaw and Laura Lorene Phillips Shaw. Mrs. Hicks was a former secretary for the Rockdale County Hospital and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Covington, GA.

Patsy spent many years devoted to caring for her family as a wife and mother before later returning to the workforce. She treasured the life she shared with Tommy and took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed staying connected to the lives of family and friends and never lost interest in the people she loved.

Her life was marked by a sincere faith in Christ. Through the years, she remained active in her local church, participated in Bible Study Fellowship, and found encouragement in God's Word and in fellowship with other believers. Though her health limited her activities in recent years, she continued to cherish her faith, family, and friendships.

Survivors include her husband: Thomas William “Tommy” Hicks of Conyers, GA; two sons: Kendall Hicks (Leaha) of Anderson, SC, and Jay Hicks (Jill) of Covington, GA; six grandchildren: Jason Hicks (Jordan), Kristen Leach (Chris), Kaitlyn Woodruff (Paul), Jordan Hebert (Dexter), Morgan Glass (Zachary), and Aubrey Hicks; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother: Bobby Shaw of Hartwell. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her parents and her sister: Rose Alice Denny.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.

It was Mrs. Hicks’ wishes to be cremated and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Pastor Kendall Hicks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the missions fund of your local church, continuing the work of sharing the love and hope of Christ with others.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is assisting the family with all of the arrangements.
