Paul King, Jr., age 76, of Lavonia, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital.

He was born July 20, 1947, in Sallis, Mississippi, son of the late Paul King, Sr. and Leona Keith King. Mr. King was a proud US Army veteran, where he served during the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors as a trainer, after many years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife: Gail King; children: Alex King, Angie McElvery, Anita Phillips, Amanda King, Amy Couch, and Sara Fortner; siblings: Mary Jane Locke, Linda Stringer, and David King; grandchildren: Jacob King, Cassie King, Christina Wilkins, Daniel Garmon, Autumn Garmon, Anthony Phillips, Steven Phillips, Savannah Phillips, Kevin Phillips, Bray Phillips, Andrew King, Sadie Smith, Addie Smith, John Couch, Diamond Goodrich, Sierra Fortner, Paige Scott, Bill Scott, Jesse Scott, and Ellie Scott; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Alan King.

Mr. King was cremated in accordance with his request. The family will gather for a private celebration of his life.
