Mr. Paul Eugene Peniston III, 85, of Rice Mill Road, Hartwell, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Hart Care Center.

Born on March 3, 1929 in Newnan GA, he was the son of the late Thomas Jackson Peniston and Virginia DeVaughn Peniston.Mr. Peniston was a graduate of Georgia Tech, retired from Monsanto and a former real estate agent for All Hart Reality.He was also a member of the Hart County Golden K, Hartwell American Legion Post 109 and the Cokesbury United Methodist Church.Mr. Peniston was a U S Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife: Jane McMillan Peniston; two sons: Wilson T. "Bill" Peniston & Christine of Newnan GA and Paul E. "Gene" Peniston & Wendy of Greenville SC; two step-daughters: Cara Lindstrom & Bernard of Pittsburg PA and Kipli Storey & Lisa of Alpharetta GA; a step-son: Donald Scully of College Park GA; a sister: Ellen P. Rafeedie & Dr. Suhayl Rafeedie of Atlanta GA; five grandchildren: Tatum Toney & Scott, Anne Peniston, Sydney Peniston, Ariana Peniston and Hannah Peniston; a great grandchild: Ridley Toney and six step-grandchildren: Jakip, Alex, Ray, Tyler, Jordan and Jack.Mr. Peniston was preceded in death by his parents; first wife: Laura Tatum Peniston and a brother: Thomas Jackson Peniston Jr.

Memorial services will be Saturday, August 23 at 12:00 noon at the Cokesbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Ann Mann and Rev. Dean Kring officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hart County Humane Society, PO Box 1062, Hartwell GA 30643
