Mrs. Nettie Pauline Ramey Voyles, age 84, of Martin, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Brenda Voyles of Hull, Georgia.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.She was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Ramey and Iva Lee Simmons Ramey Seay of Rabun County.
She was a devoted wife for 67 years.She is survived by her husband, Alvin W. Voyles of Martin, Georgia, a brother, Bobby Ramey of Tiger, and a sister, Betty York of Eastanolle; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Brenda Voyles of Hull, and Tommy and Maephene Voyles of Martin; Grandchildren, Shauna and Ed Smith of Winterville, Melissa and Ed Peery of Suwanee, Jason Voyles of Hull, and Todd and Staci Voyles of Hull; and 8 Great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Sue Voyles; brothers J.C. Ramey, L.T. Ramey, Vaughn Ramey; and sisters, Louise Williams and Marie O'Shields.
Pauline worked as a health care provider at Lipscomb Nursing Home for 21 years.She was a faithful member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Lavonia, Georgia, and the Women's II Sunday School Class.She loved spending time at home with her family and friends, and she greatly loved her church and church family.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Strickland Funeral Home in Lavonia, Georgia.
Service will be at Poplar Springs Baptist Church on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jason Defoor and Rev. Hubert Carter officiating.Interment will follow in church cemetery.The body will be placed in the church to lie in state beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The Women's II Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escorts.
