Mrs. Peggy Rice Dunn, 74, of Hartwell, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, after a brief illness.

Born on January 3, 1950 in Royston, GA, she was the daughter of the late James A. Rice and Alice Turpin Rice.  Mrs. Dunn was previously a cosmetologist, and retired from Tenneco Automotive. She was also a member of the Reed Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends, and tending to her flowers.

Survivors include her two daughters: Renee' Dunn Simchon (Sam) and Sandra Dunn Wooten (York) all of Greenwood; five grandchildren: Michael Hinson, Ryan Hinson, Samantha Simchon, David Simchon, and Slate Wooten; one great grandson: Jace Hinson; one sister-in-law: Beth Dunn Maret; aunts: Ruby Nell Turpin, Dot Howell, and Mary Ben Rice; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including: Becky Rice and Jimmie Sue Harris. Mrs. Dunn is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Gary E. Dunn; and one brother: William M. Rice.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Dunn will be Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Janice Loggins officiating.  Burial will be in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Reed Creek Baptist Church, 116 Boleman Hill Road, Hartwell GA 30643.
