Mrs. Peggy Oneida (Johnson) Terry, age 78, of Bowersville, wife of Billy J. Terry, died Wednesday, April 9 at Stephens County Hospital.
Born January 21, 1930 in Silver Point, TN, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Willie Mae (Russell) Johnson. Easter Sunday was a special day for Peggy, as she was baptized on Easter many years ago. She was a graduate of Baxter Seminary in High School and Massey Business College of Atlanta. Peggy worked as secretary for receiving and shipping clerk at Concrete Mfg. of Atlanta for several years. She owned and operated three different day cares. She enjoyed camping at Lake Lanier and the Mississippi coast and returned to Hart County after Hurricane Katrina. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McDonough.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years: Billy J. Terry; daughter and son in law: Angela and Ron Prier of Bowersville; grand-daughter Jessica Jo Prier; step grand-children: David Prier and Paige Winton.
Mrs. Terry was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Russell Johnson and Pete Johnson.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 12 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth.
