Obituary

Mr. James Edward "Pete" Foster, age 86 of 194 Placid Cove Road, Hartwell, Ga., died February 10, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born March 14, 1923 in Hart County, he was the son of the late Collie Foster and Grace Hix Foster. He was retired from Newton Mill-Milliken with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Signal Corp. and was a D-Day survivor.

He is survived by: sons, Michael Gene Foster and Gail Foster of Flowery Branch, Ga., and James Neal Foster and Priscilla Foster of Thomson, Ga., grandchildren, Jennifer Brooke Daniel, Miranda Claire Willingham, April Denise Norman and Kimberly Foster, great-grandchildren, Harlin Tucker Lewis, Rylee Nicole Lewis, Mckinley Brooke Daniel and Mary Elizabeth Daniel also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Moorhead Foster and brother, Alton Foster.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Black will officiate. Burial will be at Nancy Hart Memorial Park with military honors.

The family will receive friend on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be at their respective homes.
