Obituary
Mr. Bobby Gene "Pete" Wells, 73, of 51 Pineywoods Rd., Hartwell, died Saturday, December 30 at his home.
Born in Faceville GA, he was the son of the late R.C. Wells and Josephine Bates Wells.Mr. Wells was a retired air traffic controller and large scale contractor.He was a member of the Hartwell Bass Club, Okefenokee National Wildlife Association and of the Methodist Faith.He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife: Karen Wolfe Wells of the home; four daughters: Joni Neese of Hartwell, Jenny Bryson of Carnesville, Tracey Davidson of Commerce and Robin Brown of Anderson; two brothers: Gerald Wells of Faceville and Rudolph Wells of Albany; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Reella Sherre Wells.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 2 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Allen Stewart officiating.Mr. Wells wished to be cremated and his ashes will be buried in Faceville at a later date.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday night.
