Mr. Philip James Lamanna Sr., 70, of 56 Rice Mill Rd. Hartwell, died peacefully at home on August 19, 2007.His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he touched throughout his very memorable life.
Born on September 18, 1936 in Westchester Co. NY, he was the son of the late Michael E. Lamanna and Jane McDowell Lamanna.He was a retired commercial truck driver and a Navy veteran who proudly served on the USS Erwin DD794.
Mr. Lamanna was a beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend.His survivors include his wife: Eileen Lamanna, a son: Philip Lamanna Jr. (Trish) of Maggie Valley NC; six daughters: Eileen Poulin (Greg) and Marie Burbaugh (Jerry) both of New Smyrna Beach FL, Patricia Braille (Steve) of Plainview NY, Kathleen Lamanna of New Smyrna Beach FL, Darcy Kelley (Bates) of Hartwell and Jennifer Fair (Fred) of New Smyrna Beach FL; a sister: Jane Afterman of Hartwell; two aunts: Antoinette DePaul and Carmel Visconti, Edgewater, FL; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Michael John Lamanna and a sister: Anna DiNicola.
With Philip's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him everyday, he will forever remain in our hearts.
