Ms. Phyllis Evelyn (Singleton) Cawthon, age 72, of 372 Stonebridge Road – Lavonia, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, SC.
Born July, 4, 1935, in Stephens County, she was the daughter of the late Raleigh L. & Minerva (Dooley) Singleton. She was a hotel and convenience store manager. She was a member of the Lavonia Lions Club and Welcome Neighbors. She was a member of the Lavonia Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Charles & LuAnn Cawthon of Lavonia; grandchildren: Charlton & Cezann Cawthon of Lavonia; and sister: Irene (Singleton) Field. She was predeceased by a son: Thomas Ray Cawthon, Jr. and brothers: Roy Lee Singleton & William Singleton.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the Lavonia Presbyterian Church with Dr. Ross Layne and Edith Covert officiating. The family will receive friends after the service from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
