Phyllis Girtman Fleming, age 72, of Lavonia, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at her home.

She was born March 28, 1951, in Laurel Springs, NC, the daughter of the late Alfred and Annie Cantrell Girtman. She was a self-employed cosmetologist until her retirement. She was a member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Mac Fleming.

Mrs. Fleming is survived by her son & daughter-in-law: Johnny & Denise Fleming; daughter & son-in-law: Jenny & Jeremy Wright; grandchildren: Garrison & Kylie Fleming, Carrington & Jarrad Burdette, Chandler Wright, and Whitley Wright; and great-grandchildren: Rori Fleming, Chip Burdette, and Laken Fleming.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Finger officiating. Burial will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
