Mrs. Pauline "Polly" Robinson Buffington, age 70, of Lavonia, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospice House.
Born May 21, 1940, in DeKalb County, she was the daughter of the late James Robinson, Sr. and Frances (Drummond) Robinson. Prior to retirement, she was a teacher at Clarkston High School, the Kindergarten Director for Clarkston Baptist Church, and a paraprofessional at Lavonia Elementary School. Mrs. Buffington was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and the Golden Heirs Senior Group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson: Luke Helton.
She is survived by her husband: Hugh David Buffington of the home; daughters and sons-in-law: Christy & Ray Casaday of Braselton and Kimberly & John Leffert of Watkinsville; brother and sister-in-law: James & Marsha Robinson, Jr.; and grandchildren: Cody & Sara Helton, Jessica Casaday, and Benjamin & Brooke Leffert.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour. At other hours the family will be at the home.
