Polly Crowe Mitchell, age 77, of Lavonia, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Born on February 11, 1947, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Edna Miller Pruitt and Jack Poole Pruitt. Polly was among the second graduating class of the unified Franklin County High School.

A devoted caregiver, Polly dedicated many years to looking after her husband, Harry, following his disability. Before assuming this role, she served as a secretary at Franklin County Junior High School. Polly found joy in tending to her garden and cherished her quiet moments. Above all, she adored spending time with her grandchildren.

Polly was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry M. Mitchell; her cherished grandson, Andrew Mitchell; and her brothers, Danny Crowe and James "Tooney" Miller. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kim (Scot) Bruce; her son, Scott (Denise) Mitchell; her grandchildren, Alex Mitchell, Anthony Mitchell, and Keri (Josh) Sheets; and her brother, Mike Pruitt.

The graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Franklin Memorial Gardens – North, with Rev. Courtney Umbehant officiating. Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia is in charge of the arrangements.
