Mrs. Rachel Ann (Roach) Segars, age 73, of Lavonia, died Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center.
Born July 8, 1939, in Lavonia, she was the daughter of the late D. A. & Sally Louise (Cole) Roach. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Segars was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Bruce Segars; siblings: Hershel Roach & Nell Williamson.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Charles Larry & Glenda Segars and Tony Mark & Velvet Segars; grandchildren: William Segars, Jonathan Segars, Dustin Segars, Hannah Segars, Brooklyn Segars, & Cory Segars; great grandchildren: Ansley Segars, Dallas Segars, & Lane Segars; siblings: Wendell Roach, Brenda Burton, Cat Randall, & Carol Jordan.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Carson officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens - North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at the home of her son, Larry Segars of Martin.
