Mr. James Ralph Sanders, 94, of Cleveland Ave., Hartwell, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Hart Care Center.

Born on December 29, 1927 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Clinton Sanders and Cora Myers Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a Chevron Oil Jobber and owner/operator of Sanders Oil Company from 1963-1992. He also was a former member of the Rotary Club of Hartwell and was awarded the coveted 4-Way Test Award in 2010.  Mr. Sanders was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartwell, Fellowship Sunday School Class and served as usher and greeter for many years. He also was a US Army Veteran and an avid Georgia football fan.

Survivors include his wife: Dot Hall Sanders; two sons: Mike Sanders, Ricky Sanders; one daughter: Pam Carroll (Wayne) all of Hartwell; and one daughter-in-law: Sajida Sanders of TN; six grandchildren: Chris Carroll (Nichole), Kenzie Cheek (Jason), Jenny Sanders, Angie Sanders, Riley Sanders, Carson Sanders; and seven great grandchildren.  Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Frank Sanders, Harry Sanders and Larry Sanders.

The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell and immediately following the service.   Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Sanders will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Stuart Lang, Dr. Hugh Kirby and Rev. Carter Tucker officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
