Mr. Ralph Lee Trammell, 87, of North Forest Ave, Hartwell, died Monday, February 3, 2014 at Hartwell Health Care Center.

Born on May 24, 1926 in Marietta GA, he was the son of the late T.C. Trammell and Nora Dupree Trammell.Mr. Trammell was retired from Newton Mill, where he was a Loom Fixer, former member of the Optimist Club of Hartwell and the Hartwell Post of the VFW.Mr. Trammell was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, McDoyle SS Class and was a WW II U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific Theater.

Survivors include a son, Joel Trammell of Deerfield IL; four daughters, Carole Robertson & her husband Jerry, Brenda Kidd & her husband Jimmy, Alice Taylor & her husband Roger all of Hartwell and Becky Miles & her husband Lee of Hazlehurst GA; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.Mr. Trammell was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dixie Ayers Trammell; two sons, Ralph Donald Trammell and Raymond Ronald Trammell and two sisters, Lucille Cabrera and Ruby Obert.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Joe Black & Rev. John Silver officiating.Burial will be in the Northview Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday night.The family is at the home of Carole & Jerry Robertson, 3545 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to Mt.
