Mr. Harold Ray Ankerich, 82, of Lavonia Hwy, Bowersville, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at his home.

Born on June 16, 1934 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late Pascal Peyton Ankerich and Jessie Mae Brown Ankerich.Mr. Ankerich was a retired foreman with the Georgia Department of Transportation. Ray was an US Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He was also a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church

Survivors include his wife: Nancy Fain Ankerich; his daughter: Wanda Shaw and her husband Dwayne of Anderson; two sons: Michael Clemet and his wife Jennifer of Eastonellee, and Jimmy Wright of Hartwell; two brothers: Joel Ankerich and his wife Sue of Canon, Doug Ankerich and his wife Shirley of Bowersville; thirteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Mr. Ankerich was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Steve Ankerich and Jeff Ankerich; and three brothers: Ronnie Ankerich, Bill Ankerich, and Bob Ankerich.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 20, 2016, 11:00 am at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Cleveland officiating.Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Connie Mack Bowers officiating.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.The family is at the home.
