Mr. Ray C. Bailey, 86, of Pineview Lane, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 at his home.
Born on June 24, 1936 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Cullen Bailey and Ruth Griffin Bailey. Mr. Bailey was retired from Milliken Co. / Newton Textile Plant, and a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church where he was a member of the McDoyle Sunday School Class. He was also a US Army veteran serving between 1954 and 1956.
Survivors include his wife: Joan Wooten Bailey; two sons: Donnie Bailey (Linda) and Ronnie Bailey (Diane), all of Hartwell; and daughter: Kathy Moorhead (Ralph Burdette) of Hartwell. Six grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild also survive. Mr. Bailey is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Kenneth and Thomas Bailey; sister: Faye Bailey; and one grandchild: Joshua Ray Bailey.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home of Ronnie & Diane Bailey, 366 Old Mt. Hebron Rd, Hartwell.
Funeral services for Mr. Ray Bailey will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Revs. Jason Webb and Kenny Davidson officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 2973 Mt. Olivet Rd, Hartwell, GA 30643.
