Obituary
Mr. Ray Isom, 85 of Randall Street, Hartwell, died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born on July 21, 1925 in Hart Co., GA, he was the son of the late Lallie Carnes Isom and Perry Isom. He was a retired paint-inspector for the Singer Manufacturing Company, a U.S. Army WWII Veteran, and a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son: Ted Isom and wife, Jane of Hartwell; one brother: Thomas Isom of Anderson, SC; one sister: Eula Lee Kowen of Anderson, SC; and three grandchildren: Russell Isom, Stacey Ackerman and husband David, and Mollie I. Merrow and husband Jeff.Mr. Isom was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Ealon Isom, J.P. Isom; four sisters: Ethel Cleveland, Avis Walters, Katie Isom, and Frances Richardson.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.The family requests no flowers and a special memorial may be made to the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, 273 Mt. Hebron Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
