Mr. Sir Raymond Waterman, 90, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.
Born on September 16, 1926 in Brooklyn NY, he was the son of the late Edward Waterman and Mary Meyers Waterman.Ray received a Bachelor's degree from Hofstra University, Hempstead NY, where he also served as an Associate Professor for several years. He also retired from ABC Liquors, Longwood FL, where he was a manager.Mr. Waterman was a member of the U.S. Power Squadron, where he was a Past-Commander of the Seminole County Chapter.Ray moved to Hartwell where he became an active member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.He served on the Parish Council, St. Vincent de Paul, Eucharistic Ministry and numerous other church committees.He was an active member of the Knight of Columbus.
Ray is survived by a brother: Robert Waterman of Brooklyn NY; a sister: Joan Elberfeld of Vero Beach FL and numerous church friends.
Ray loved God 1st and foremost and his church and friends with all of his heart. He had an unmatched loving, kind, faithful and giving spirit in whom it was most important to take care of and did so by giving quietly and humbly to any of those in need. He supported a couple children across seas. You could always count on a good laugh when with Ray ! He had a great sense of humor and wit. Ray is loved dearly and will be missed but will live on forever in our hearts.

A funeral mass celebrating Ray's life will held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.A Rosary prayer service for Ray will be held at 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral mass.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 1009 Benson Street, Hartwell GA 30643
