Mr. James Rayford McCurley, 79, of Milford Road, Hartwell, passed away Friday, August 7, 2105 at his home.
Born March 30, 1936 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of the late John Henry McCurley and Azalee Reynolds McCurley.Mr. McCurley was owner and operator of McCurley's Screen Shop.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley Spears McCurley; one son: Donnie McCurley and his wife Leisa of Royston; six grandchildren: Jeremy McCurley, Tiffany McCurley, Britney McCurley, Heather McCurley, Phillip McCurley, Sierra McCurley and five great-grandchildren: Keelan Tyler Jordan, Landon James Lewis, Jacelyn Riley Deaton, Brooklyn Kate Lewis and Major James McCurley also survive.Mr. McCurley was preceded in death by his son: Sandy McCurley and two brothers: Junior McCurley and Charles McCurley.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday evening.Mr. McCurley wished to be cremated after the visitation.The family is at their respective homes.Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the New Prospect Baptist Church or to the charity of one's choice.
