Mr. Raymond Hampton "Mac" McAlhany, 90, of Walnut Drive, Hartwell, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his home.

Born on October 12, 1932 in Orangeburg, SC, he was the son of the late Raymond Bryant McAlhany and Lucille Nettles McAlhany. Mr. McAlhany was the former owner/operator of Rite-Mix Concrete Company, a farmer, and a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the Army National Guard.

Survivors include his three daughters: Linda Wood (Dale), Janice Freeman, and Cindy Lawrence (Tony), all of Hartwell; and eight grandchildren: Kelley Wood, Angela Siegfried (Adam), Tommy Wood, Jessica Gibson (Carl), Clint Greenway (Nicole), Mac Freeman (Erica), Amy Seymour (Shane), and April Cowart (Rodney). Fifteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren also survive. Mr. McAlhany is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Whilimena Antley McAlhany; one daughter: Marilyn Greenway; brother: John F. McAlhany; and sister: Barbara Neese.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral services for Mr. "Mac" McAlhany will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Grant Myerholtz officiating.  Burial will be in the McAlhany Family Cemetery.
