Mr. Rufus Dean "R.D." Sauer, 60, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born on January 7, 1961 in Baton Rouge LA, he was the son of Vernon B. Sauer and the late Marylou Burleson Sauer.Mr. Sauer was an electrician and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his father: Vernon Sauer of Hartwell; his wife: Susan Marie Sauer of the home; a daughter: Jennifer Sauer of Sylva NC; two step-daughters: Anna Cain of St. Petersburg FL and Kimberly Michal of Sun Prairie WI; a step-son: Wayne Cain (Suzi) of Hartwell; a sister:Nancy Callaway (David) of Dallas GA; a brother: John Sauer (Gerri) of Nelson GA; five step-grandchildren: Alexandria Cain, Brad Cain, Phoenix Todd, Dartanion Michal and Samuel Doll; nieces and nephews, Taylor Callaway, Caitlin Callaway, Tanner Grimes, Matt Van Divner, Emily Sauer also survive.
A Celebration of R.D.'s life will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. F. Hugh Kirby officiating.The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
