Mrs. Retha Booth Ray Gaines, 73, of 1616 Page Road, Hartwell, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at her home.
Born on March 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late J.C. Booth and Myrtie Scarboro Booth.She retired from Pilgrim's Pride where she worked on the line production.
Survivors include her husband: Terry Jay Gaines of the home; two sons: Hugh Ray of Danielsville and Tracy Ray of Vanna; three daughters: Cathy Ray of Carnesville, Sheila Tucker of Elberton and Sharon Ertzberger of Bowersville; four sisters; thirteen grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.Mrs. Gaines was preceded in death by her parents.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday night.Mrs. Gaines wished to be cremated and no memorial services are planned.The family is at their respective homes.
