Mrs. Retha Hellon Moon, 84, of 3018 Anderson Hwy, Hartwell, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born on April 5, 1928 in Homer, GA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Kesler and Luvie Addison Kesler.She was a homemaker, a member of Sardis Baptist Church and the Homemakers Sunday school class.

Survivors include her husband, J.D. Moon of the home; three daughters, Mary Morrow and her husband Jerry of Cloudland, GA, Janice Saine and her husband Robert of Lawrenceville, GA and Sue Smith and her husband Rick of Hartwell; two sisters, Pansy Martin and her husband Lonnie of Toccoa and Lura Craft of Abbeville, GA; four grandchildren: Amy Morrow, Jamie Miller, Lindsey Smith, Casie Maxey; and three great-grandchildren: Avery Miller, Eric Miller, and Addison Maxey.Mrs. Moon was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rachel Collins and Jeanelle Kesler; and three brothers: "HV" Kesler, Parks Kesler and Jimmy Kesler.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. John Silver, Mr. Henry Kesler, and Mr. Robert Saine officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.The family is at the home.
