Obituary
Mr. Rickey Bruce Roper Sr., 64, of Bryants Landing Road, Wewahitchka FL, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at his daughter's home in Hartwell.
Born on September 30, 1952 in Atlanta GA, he was the son of the Eugene McKelvin and Nettie Plumley Sheriff.Mr. Roper was a former driver for Waste Management and of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include two sons: Rickey Roper Jr. of McDonough GA and Kenneth Roper of Wewahitchka FL; four daughters: Kristie Crook of Thomaston GA, Bridget Lane of St. Petersburg FL, Letha Pettys of Hartwell and Marilynn Alonzo of San Antonio TX; a sister: Pam Sheriff of Atlanta GA; sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service celebrating Rickey's life will be held at a later date by the family.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
