Mrs. Robbie Jo Brown Black, 85, of 2069 Smith McGee Hwy, Hartwell, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Hartwell Health Care Center.

Born on September 12, 1925 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late William N. Brown and Fannie Sue Craft Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons: John Black of Hartwell, and Mike Black and his wife, Jan, of Hartwell; two daughters: Anne Gray and her husband, Rudy, of Seneca, and Jill Jones and her husband, Jeff, of Hartwell; one brother: Austin Brown of Anderson; one sister: Mary Wilhite of Hartwell; and six grandchildren: Jennifer Black, Becky Pitts, Katy Neely, Cindy Lazear, Mikaela Black, Hunter Jones. Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Kenneth Black; two brothers: Hoyt Brown and Billy Brown; and one sister: Louise Nix.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Meeks and Rev. Rudy Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
