Mr. Robert Lewis Bannister, 68, of Cade Street, Hartwell, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Hartwell Health and Rehab

Born on July 19, 1947 in Anderson SC, he was the son of the late Bert Bannister Sr. and Willie Mae "Bill" Robertson Bannister.Mr. Bannister was retired from Georgia Power Company and a former employee of the City of Royston. He was also a member of Bio Baptist Church, a former Deacon and a U.S. Air Force Veteran.

Survivors include several cousins. He was preceded by his parents, and one brother, Bert Bannister Jr.

Funeral services will be Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Dale Zaboroskie officiating.Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday Afternoon prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Bio Baptist Church, 2145 Bio Church Road Hartwell GA 30643.
