Mr. Robert Edward Barnard, 82, of Hartwell, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at his home.

Born on July 8, 1940 in Jesup GA, he was the son of the late Delas Columbus Barnard and Henrietta Henderson Barnard.  Mr. Barnard was a graduate of Glynn Academy and a retired service technician AT&T / BellSouth.  He was also a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge, the Yarrab Shrine and the Lavonia First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Shirley Ann Smith Barnard; two sons: Donald K. Barnard (Angela) of St. Simons GA and Sean K. Barnard (Kelly) of Hartwell; a daughter: Tammy Piper (Jay) of Hartwell; Twelve grandchildren and Ten great-grandchildren also survive.  Mr. Barnard was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings: Evelyn Barnard, D.C. Barnard Jr., Baby Boy Barnard, James Barnard, Jane B Seely, Virginia B. Hatcher, Elizabeth "Sister" B. Gault and Christine B. Strickland.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Barnard will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
