Robert Hoke "Rob" Blakely, III, age 47, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born November 2, 1971, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Robert "Hoke" Blakely, Jr. and Linda (Dooley) Blakely. He was a 1991 graduate of Franklin County High School. Rob was a firefighter for more than thirty years, having served with Line Fire Department and Martin Fire Department. He worked as a lineman and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Casey (Roach) Blakely; daughter: Katlyn Blakely; sister: DeeDee Blakely; special cousin: Lisa Scott; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Georgia State Firefighters Association (www.gsffa.org). Rob will be cremated according to his request.
