Mr. Robert Harris "Bob" Carter, age 64, of 766 Carters Ferry Rd., Hartwell, GA, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson, SC.

Born November 8, 1942 in Franklin County, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Oscar Carter.He attended Piedmont College, Emmanuel College and the University of Georgia.He was a member of the American Legion Post #109, Hartwell Golf Club and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

He is survived by:Mother, Joan Harris Cook of Danielsville, GA; Stepmother, Mary Helen Brooks Carter of Hartwell, GA; Sons, Jamie Carter of Hartwell, GA and Robbie Carter of SC; Daughters, Deborah Smith of Anderson, SC, Lisa Cleveland of Hartwell, GA, Carol DiMarco of Danielsville, GA, Laura Willis of Hartwell, GA and Kelley Mize of Hartwell, GA; Brothers, David Kelley of Houston, TX, Billy Kelley of Comer, GA, Dr. Jim Carter of Spartanburg, SC, Richard Carter of Nashville, TN and Stephen Carter of Hartwell; Sisters, Beth Zorbanos of Danielsville, GA and Mary Brooks Carter Hogan of Greenville, SC; Aunts, Nina Carter Pittard Wilson of Hartwell, GA and Louisa Carter Alexander of Atlanta, GA; 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren also survives.He was preceded in death by his Father; Son, Bill Carter and a grandchild, Zachary Pilgrim.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, GA.Dr. R. Allen Stewart will officiate.
