Robert Dougher

Robert A. Dougher, age 79, of Lavonia, Georgia, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026, at his home.

Born August 28, 1947, in Verona, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Paul Dougher and Marjorie Walker Dougher. Robert was a high school graduate and worked in quality assurance with GCA. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1968 until 1974. He enjoyed motorcycles, traveling, and tinkering—whether working with his hands, figuring out how something worked, or simply enjoying the open road.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Hodge Dougher; son, Brian Dougher; daughter and son-in-law, Brandi Dougher Buckalew and James Buckalew; and grandchildren, Christopher Buckalew, Courtney Buckalew Morgan Faulkner, and Colin Buckalew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Dougher, Michael Dougher, and Frank Dougher.

Robert will be cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. He will be interred with military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
