Mr. Bennie Robert Sanders, 89, of Clyde Circle, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Pruitt Health of Toccoa.

Born on in January 1, 1929 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Butler Sanders and Eunice Stamps Sanders.Mr. Sanders was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment as an assembly line worker and a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons: Jerry Sanders, Wayne Sanders both of Hartwell; two grandchildren: Kim, Crystal; three great-grandchildren: Taylor, Brooke, Haleigh. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his wife: Willie Blanche Carnes Sanders; one step-son: Kenneth Carnes; one brother: James Sanders and four sisters: Martha Smith. Imogene Cobb, Margaret Boy and Willie Mae Pilgrim.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Mr. Fred Greenway officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Prayer.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Saturday prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes.
