Robert "Chip" Strickland Jr.

Mr. Robert Gordon “Chip” Strickland Jr., 72, of Hartwell, passed away peacefully Friday, May 1, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born on July 2, 1953 in Anderson SC, he was the son of Betty Teasley Strickland and the late Robert G. Strickland Sr. Chip was the Owner & Operator of Chip’s Electronics and Appliance Service. He was a former employee of Hartwell Garment, Gip’s Mfg. and his Uncle Ned’s, Strickland Furniture and Appliances. Chip loved studying the Bible and collecting rocks and arrowheads and was a member of the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Lavonia GA.

Survivors include his mother: Betty Teasley Strickland; his wife: Patricia Quinn Strickland; a son: Foster Strickland (Christiana); four daughters: Brooke Wilson (Steven), Elisha Reeder (Josh), Noel Strickland and Rachel Strickland; three step-daughters: Sherri Hobbs (Gary), Sallee LaForge (Eric) and Cheryl Pulliam (Eddie); a brother: Tim Strickland (Sue); a sister: Rhona S. Dunn; four grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Chip was preceded in death by his father; his first wife: Cathy Cooper Strickland and his brother: Benjamin Andrew Strickland.

The family will receive friends Monday, Monday, May 4, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home on 65 Clay Street, Hartwell and his mother’s home, 952 Ridge Road, Hartwell.

Funeral services for Mr. Chip Strickland will be Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Pastors Nathan Dallas and Aaron Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Grace Fellowship Baptist Church, 4947 Vickery Street, Lavonia GA 30553.
