Mr. Rodger Duane Herring, 61 of Hartwell, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at his home.

Born on November 21, 1963 in Hartwell GA, he was the son of Evelyn Adams Herring and the late Sammy R. Herring.  He loved restoring old cars, fishing and music. He was of the Baptist faith

Survivors include his mother: Evelyn A. Herring; one son: Sam J. Herring of Athens GA; one daughter: Abigail E. Landaverde (Ren) of Austin TX; one brother: Adam Herring (Cindy) of Hartwell; one sister: Sandee Gray (Dale) of Hartwell; two nephews: Casey Mills & Henry Gray; and one niece: RaeLeigh Mills.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 10, 2025 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rodger Herring will be Friday, October 10, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Webb officiating.
