Mr. Roland Merle Klender, 85, of Kesler Road, Canon, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at his home.
Born on August 29, 1930 in Bay City, MI., he was the son of the late Alva Klender and Irene Grandmason Klender.Mr. Klender was a retired railroad conductor with the New York Central Railroad.He was a US Marine veteran serving in the Korean War and of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife: Alice Martin Klender of Canon; two sons: Eric Klender of Sandford, FL., Edward Klender of Canon; one daughter: Amy Hilliker of Chuluota, FL.; two brothers: Warn Klender and his wife Norma and Gary Klender and his wife Cathy both of Bay City, MI.; five grandchildren: Lisa Young, Fred Spruill, IV, Curtis Hilliker, Andrew Klender and Matthew Klender; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Klender was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Roann Webster; and two sisters: Jacqueline Thorne and Beverly Daeschlein.
Memorial services will be Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 2:00 pm at the Providence United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Brown officiating.
