Mrs. Romola Kent Eaton, age 86, of Lavonia, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospice House in Athens.
Born December 31, 1932, in Lynchburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Archie Beverly Kent and Exa Ola (Barker) Kent. Prior to retirement she worked for C & S Bank and as a real estate agent. She was a member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church and the Woman's Missionary Union. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: John Henderson Kent.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Clair Howard Eaton, Sr.; sons & daughters-in-law: Howard & Pam Eaton and Chad & Kim Eaton; daughter & son-in-law: Deidre & Wayne Cogdell; grandchildren: Kayla & Austin Grudda, Kierstin Cogdell & fiancé Jon, Keri & Mitch Standridge, Cameron Cogdell, and Cole Eaton; and great-grandchildren: Karson Grudda and Tucker Grudda.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2019 at the Lavonia First Baptist Church with Dr Larry Finger officiating. A private graveside service will follow in the Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary's Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Road, Watkinsville, GA 30622.
