Mr. Ronald Lane Brooks, 83, of Crawfords Ferry Point, Hartwell, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 at his home.

Born on March 1, 1940 in Ashville NC, he was the son of the late Paul M. Brooks and Hazel Stroupe Brooks.  Mr. Brooks graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Business Administration and was a former Communications Director for the U. S. Army at Fort McPherson.  He was a member of the Reed Creek Baptist Church and an avid Golfer.  Mr. Brooks also served in the U. S. Navy from 1958 to 1962.

Survivors include his wife: Sandra Kay Brooks; two sons: Lane Brooks and Tracy Brooks (Jinelle) all of Hartwell; a brother: George Brooks (Paula); a sister: Gail Brooks and two grandchildren: Reece Brooks and Bailee Brooks.  Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Mitty Brooks and a sister: Brenda Holcomb.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. Ron Brooks will be held Sunday, September 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Reed Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Boyd and Mr. Mel Loyd officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Reed Creek Baptist Church, 116 Boleman Hill Road, Hartwell GA 30643.
