Mr. Ronnie M. "Ron" Walters, age 63, of Lavonia, died Friday, June 26, 2015 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born on August 7, 1951, in Royston, he was the son of the late Hubert Max and Sarah (Dowis) Walters. He was owner & operator of Ron's Flowers and was a member of the Regional Florist Association. Mr. Walters was a member of Lavonia First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Tommy Walters.
He is survived by his wife: Judy (Watson) Walters of the home; a number of Lavonia children who grew up in the flower shop and other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Finger, Rev. Mike Smith, and Rev. Chris Chitwood officiating. Burial will follow in Lavonia City – Burgess Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. At other hours the families will be at their respective home. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jim Gothard, Jim Hunnicutt, Dwight Stovall, Clayton Godfrey, Bill Loudermilk and Tommy Loudermilk.
