Ronnie Clifton Singleton, born August 3, 1943, of Lavonia, passed away Wednesday November 9, 2016 at Athens Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his beloved wife, Hazel, seven children, Mike Westbrook and wife Karen of Carnesville, Don Singleton of Euharlee, Donna Reeves and husband Kenny of Euharlee, Jill Cothran and husband Rick of Martin, Robert "Buddy" Westbrook and wife Marie of Martin, Barry Westbrook of Royston and wife Sonja of Lavonia, Chad Singleton and wife Rosemary of Canon, 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, all of whom were the joy of Ronnie's life. Survivors also include his brother Donnie Singleton and wife Jeannie of Athens, sister Sue Ethridge of Hartwell, sister-in-law Pam Singleton of Lavonia and several nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Doyle and Mary Singleton of Lavonia and was also preceded in death by his brother Billy Singleton of Lavonia,
Ronnie served in the USAF and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Ronnie and his wife owned and operated Jolin's Fish House on Lake Hartwell for over 30 years. Ronnie was a Real Estate Broker and Certified Real Estate Appraiser and Owner of Ronnie Singleton Realty & Appraisal Service for many years. Ronnie was a long time member of The Georgia Gamefowl Breeder's Association. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church which he dearly loved.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2016, at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Bartl of Fairland Washington and Rev. David Wilson of Hartwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be at Nancy Hart Memorial Park in Hartwell with military honors. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes.
