Obituary
Mrs. Roxie Anna Herring Coughlin, 86, of 272 Athens Street, Hartwell, died peacefully, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.
Born on December 11, 1925 in Hart County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Charles T. Herring and Omie Elizabeth Sanders Herring.Roxie was retired from the US Government having worked as a clerical assistant at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta.She was also a former dental assistant and was a member of the Hartwell First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. "Bob" Coughlin; one daughter, Kathy Adamson of Mesa, AZ; three sons: William Coughlin of Columbia, SC, David Coughlin of Buford, GA, and Steve Coughlin of Hartwell, GA; eleven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Coughlin was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northview Cemetery with Rev. Carter Tucker officiating.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday night.The family is at the home.
