Obituary
Mr.Roy Gene Alewine, age 67, of Lavonia, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at Cobb Memorial Hospital.
Born February 24, 1940, in Franklin County, he was the son of Annie (Harris) Alewine and the late Johnny Alewine. He was a veteran of the US Army. He worked as a drywall installer and was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father; wife: Barbara (Morgan) Alewine; son: Timothy Alewine; step-son: Tracy Adams; brothers: Ray Alewine, Guy Columbus Alewine, & Herman Eugene Alewine; and sisters: Carolyn Hinson & Becky Ryan.
Survivors include: his mother; daughter and son-in law: Tamara & Frankie Johnson of Canon; step-son: Tony Adams of Starr, SC; sisters: Elouise Donald of Lavonia & Johnnie Sue Faulkner of Ila; brother: Kenneth Alewine of Lavonia; and grandchildren: Tiffany Roberts, Scott Johnson, & Jessica Adams.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Alewine officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at the home of Tamara & Frankie Johnson and will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
