Mr. Roy Lee Bowen, age 74 of 312 Bowen Road, Hartwell, Ga., died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at AnMed Health Campus, Anderson, S.C.
He was born December 29, 1932 in Hart County, GA.He was the son of the late Albert Bowen and Edna Rowland Bowen. He was a self-employed house mover and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by: Wife of the home, Beverly Driver Bowen; Daughters, Dixie Bowers and her husband Wayne of Hartwell, Ga. and Twyler Bowen Acreman and her husband Rick of Hartwell, Ga.; Brothers, Charles Bowen of Bowersville, GA, Jim Bowen of Hartwell, GA and George Bowen of Hartwell, GA; Sister, Clara Bowen, and Ann Baker; Grandchildren, Ricky and Pamela Bowers, Wade Acreman and Wayne Acreman; Great grandchildren, Aaron Bowers and Tara Bowers.He is preceded in death by sisters, Faye Hill and Fannie Gaines.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell. Burial will be in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday evening and other times they will be at the home. Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell Chapel will be in charge.
