Mrs. Ruby Nell Weaver Brown, 94, of Coldwater Creek Road, Dewy Rose, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Hart County Hospital.

Born on June 16, 1916 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Luke Weaver, Sr. and Neila Hilley Weaver. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she attended the Joy Club and the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class.

She is survived by one son: Billy R. Brown and his wife, Harriett, of Dewy Rose; two daughters: Beverly Scott and her husband, Marvin, of Hartwell, and Helen Teasley and her husband, Thomas, of Elberton; one brother: Luke Weaver, Jr. of Canon; two sisters: Eunice Ray of Canon, and Peggy Kay of Canon; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Luther A. Brown; one brother: Howard Weaver; and four sisters: Nina Lee Bryson, Elizabeth Kelley, Delrea "Bill" Cleveland, and Bernice Pressley.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 25, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Durham and Mr. Luther Thomason officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes.Memorials may be made out to Bethany Baptist Church, 2085 Bethany-Bowersville Road, Canon, GA 30520.
