Mrs. Rubye Jewell Lowe Alewine, 94, of Homestead Road, Hartwell, died Monday, June 9, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born on April 3, 1920 in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Freeman Lowe and Margaret Louvicie Crocker Lowe.She was retired from Bellcraft Manufacturing as a seamstress and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwell

Survivors include one daughter: Sherrye Parham and her husband Anthony of Bowersville; four grandchildren: Darrian Parham, Crystal Johnson, Jessica Parham and Megan Parham; and nine great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband: Walton Alewine; one brother: Dayton Lowe; four sisters: Permelia Dyer, Alice Lowe, Bertie Lowe, and Beulah Maxwell.

Funeral services will be Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Carter Tucker and Rev. Matt Law officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.The family is at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 81 Howell St., Hartwell, GA 30643
