Howell Rudolph Warren, MD, age 83, of Dunwoody, passed away due to a sudden cardiac event while on a morning walk with his wife on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

Born on August 25, 1941, in Miami, Florida, Rudy was the son of the late Howell Rudolph Warren and Mildred Anderson Warren Sweet. He graduated from Coral Gables High School, Emory University, and Emory University School of Medicine.

Rudy proudly served as a medical officer in the US Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Da Nang. His gentle nature and caring demeanor left a lasting impact on many, as he dedicated his career to helping others through his psychiatric practice at Charter Peachford Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

An accomplished pianist and a lifelong learner, Rudy also had a passion for snow skiing and enjoyed traveling the world with his beloved wife, Joan.

Rudy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan Cawthon Warren; his children, Susan Warren, Trent (Katy) Warren, and Ansley Warren; and his four grandchildren, Grace and Ellie Warren, and Adair and Wesley Goyarts. He is also survived by his brother, Milton (Sarah) Warren. In addition to his parents, Rudy was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Warren, and his in-laws, Fred and Sue Cawthon of Lavonia.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Larry Finger officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
