Mr. Rufus Mitchell Sosby, Sr., age 66, of 336 Ankerich Road, Bowersville, GA, died Monday, October 12, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital.

Born November 22, 1942 in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of the late John York Sosby and Lillie Mae White Sosby.He was a member of Price Chapel Church of God and a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by:Wife, Wilma Millwood Sosby of the home; Daughters, Angie Sosby Beck and her husband David of Bowersville, GA, and Carol Sosby Bowen and her husband David of Hartwell, GA; Sister, Mrs. Furman Barbara Reese of Oakway, SC; Grandchildren, Kayla Beck Floyd and Jacob, Jonathan Beck, Cody Trent, and step grandchildren, Jonathan Bowen and Lenay Glover and one step great grandchild, Gavin Glover.
He is preceded in death by his Parents; Son, Mitchell Sosby, Jr; and a Sister, Carolyn Sorrells.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Price Chapel Church of God.Rev. Johnny Stowe and Rev. Rodney Allen will officiate. Burial will be in the Lavonia City Cemetery with Mr. Wesley Allen officiating.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 – 9:00 p.m.The family is at the home of David and Carol Bowen, 153 Kelley Road, Hartwell.Flowers are optional; Memorials may be made to Price Chapel Church of God Youth Fund, 45 Price Chapel Road, Lavonia, GA30553.
