Mr. Owen Russell Sanders, 45, of McCurry Road, Hartwell, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018.

Born on January 25, 1973 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Fred Alton Sanders of Hartwell and Judy Mincey of Elberton.Mr. Sanders was a truck driver for Carry On Trailers and a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters: Anna Jane Sanders and Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Sanders both of Hartwell; one sister: Valerie Cordell (Keith) of Hartwell; one nephew: Olin Cordell; three uncles: Thomas Sanders, Steve Mincey, Rick Mincey; three aunts: Judy King, Joyce Vickery, and Janie Blackmon.Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Fred and Mattie Ruth Sanders, maternal grandparents: Carl and Dot Mincey; and one uncle: Terry Mincey.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Johnny Stowe and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 12:00 noon Wednesday prior to the service.The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to defray expenses.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
